The Pathfinder Program introduced ERFSEDS rockets to new club members and advanced the club’s knowledge of rocketry. In less than a year, the Pathfinder lead is able to take this team of students students with little to no experience with rocketry and teach them how to build a rocket that is eligible to compete in the FAR 5/10/25 the following summer. Designed specifically to shape the skills of those involved, students who worked on Pathfinder left the project as leaders who gained knowledge of the fundamentals of modern high powered rocketry. Pathfinder went through 10 iterations, with the last being finished in 2022. The successor to the Pathfinder series is Project Trailblazer, which focuses on manufacturing more rocket components in-house.
